Ed Saiedi

I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Strategy & Entrepreneurship at the Norwegian Business School (BI). I am currently a visiting Research Associate at the Weatherhead Center at Harvard University. Previously, I had been a visiting scholar at Stockholm School of Economics and Bruegel Institute.

My research is focused on financing entrepreneurship and innovation (e.g. venture capital), economics of digitization and their interactions (e.g. crowdfunding, digital entrepreneurs). I study how digitalization and economic events impact entrepreneurship, innovation and firm growth.

In particular, I study how digitalization affects entrepreneurial financing and strategy (esp. in crowdfunding settings), and how the experiences of founders and funders shapes their economic decision-making. I also explore how firms’ resource allocations affect their innovations.

So far results of my research have been published in Entrepreneurship, Theory and Practice and Small Business Economics.

I currently teach Innovation Strategy and Technological Change, and Machine Learning for Business at BI, and previously taught on startup financing and econometrics.
